Dawakom ("the app", "we", "us") is a medication-management app for patients and their caregivers, built by an independent two-person team. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. The app is currently in beta testing.

⚕️ Important medical disclaimer

Dawakom is NOT a medical device and does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It helps you record your medications, set reminders, and read general, AI-generated information about medicines.

• The information shown in the app (including AI-generated medicine explanations and "alternatives") is for general guidance only and may be incomplete or wrong.
• Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting, stopping, changing, or replacing any medication.
• Do not rely on the app's AI for any medical decision. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

1. Who we are

Dawakom is developed by two individuals (not a registered company) as an early product. You can reach us at support@dawakom.net for any privacy question or to request deletion of your data.

2. What information we collect

You provide this when you create an account and use the app:

• Account / identity: your national ID number, name, phone number, and (optionally) email address.
• Health information you enter or scan: your medications, dosages, reminder schedules, whether you took/missed a dose, and any notes you add.
• Photos you take of a medicine, prescription, or label — see §4.
• Caregiver links: if you connect with a family member or caregiver, we store that relationship so the right person can help manage medications.
• Feedback you choose to send us (your answers + your name/phone/email).

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. How we use it

Only to run the service: store and show your medication list, send you and your chosen caregivers medication reminders and alerts, let linked caregivers help manage medications, and improve the app from feedback.

4. Photos and artificial intelligence

When you take or upload a photo of a medicine or prescription, the image is sent to Google's Gemini AI service to read the text and suggest the medicine name and dosage. We send the image and medicine names only — never your identity, national ID, or medical history.

We do not keep your photos. The image is stored only briefly while you review the result and is automatically deleted once you confirm or cancel, and in all cases within 24 hours. Only the text extracted from the image (e.g., the medicine name and dose you confirm) is saved to your medication list.

We do not currently store uploaded medical reports or PDF files.

5. Who we share data with (service providers)

We use trusted providers to operate the app. They process data on our behalf:

• Supabase — secure database and account hosting.
• Railway — application server hosting.
• Google (Gemini AI) — reads medicine photos and generates medicine information (see §4).
• Google Sheets — stores feedback you submit, so we can read it.
• Expo / Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications. Notification text is kept generic and does not contain medical details.

We may disclose information if required by law.

6. How we protect your data

• Your national ID is encrypted in our database.
• Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
• Access to your medical data is restricted to you and the caregivers you explicitly approve, enforced by database-level access rules.
• Push notifications are designed to avoid showing sensitive details on your lock screen.

No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

7. How long we keep it & your choices

• We keep your account and medication data until you ask us to delete it.
• You can request deletion of your account and data at any time by emailing support@dawakom.net. Deleting your account removes your profile and the medical data linked to it from our active database.
• You can disconnect a caregiver link at any time inside the app.

8. Children

Dawakom is intended for adults (patients and caregivers). It is not directed at children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app develops. We will update the "Last updated" date above; significant changes will be communicated in the app where practical.
